Betrayal of The Heart

The Heart said it well enough,
Sweetly and tenderly.
The Heart said it would
Always be
There for me,
Here with me.

The Heart made promises,
It didn't keep...
The Heart had no integrity,
Nothing really there,
nothing but hot hot air.

The Heart speaks Words
of love that float,
like balloons,
caught in a breeze,
no direction,
tasting the wind
until it deflates
with the morning's light.

The Heart fails everyone,
for The Heart
cannot really give,
nor really live,
For The "Heart"
Has no heart.
