First Breath

And I beheld your eyes...
in that first breath...I drew.
My spirit decided to stay,
not to run away.
You held me,
tenderly, lovingly
and my body
was warm again.
In vague dreams
I waited for this moment,
from a watery bed,
growing, sensing,
feeling your feelings...and now,
I awaken to your love.
Will you care for me?
Teach me, guide me,
in your wisdom...
What reality will we weave
together?
You have birthed me
into this world of dualities,
of wonder,
and of struggle,
for reasons of your own,
but it is my choice too.
Hopefully, thankfully,
gratefully...
we come together this time...
in love and fulfill a dream.
