Like Thunder

Thunderous, your dreams
come crashing down on me.
the life you planned to have,
crushed so cruelly, terribly sad.

The stories that you tell
of living through this hell,
No one could have foreseen,
it’s all like a bad, bad dream.

Doctors tell of the tragic tales,
politicians say “oh well”.
Let's give more to the rich,
while the poor die in a ditch.

Prayers by millions seem of little use,
to tame the Covid beasts abuse.
So many hearts are broken,
while politicians give just a token.

Humanity is being stomped by a heavy foot,
from whence the deadly plague took root.

The tears never ending for so many rendering
a hopeless defeat, left with just remembering.
Will we ever see an ending,
When the self-serving are doing the spending?

Some say this is the tribulation,
hard times for now, but a happy ending
and a brighter future is on its way.
However, for the present, for far too many,
this covid nightmare is here to stay.
