Loves' Breath

Sometimes......
         it is so painful to me
......to love you.....

I picture you
        in my mind,
And know
       that I love you

.....but.....

I know too well
       it’s a temporary
                 liason for us.

Our lives are too fragile,           
       our hopes…our dreams,
                     too different.

And yet, we love…
      we give and receive.

We ask, when will it end?
    silently, we hope..
     ……never…..

Love’s breath
    can be snuffed out
           like a candle,

……so fast, so final…

 All that’s left is
      the thin trail of smoke
             hanging in the air.

Where were you
      in my yesterdays?
Will you be
     in my tomorrows?

……I don’t know….     

For tonight,
    Let’s love….
            Let’s dream.

For tomorrow is still
       a breath away.
