The Silence

The silence is deafening,
Is the world still asleep?

Where in the silence
Are the cries for help?

Where in the silence
Is the rage yet unleashed?

Where is the fear,
Can you smell it,
Can you hear it coming ~ for you?

Some say silence is golden,
I say silence is a sin.

I say silence condemns the innocent,
And protects the guilty.

It encourages those who have not boundaries,
Their deeds to enfold.

The guilt lies in all,
Who do not speak out,
Who lie silent and still.

Silence, silence, be still oh people….
While the rage hurries in
And destroys ~ who next ~ but you!
